What is Tawba?
Understand it with an example-;
You started moving from
your city Okara to Multan. You find two roads ahead. One road will take you to
Multan and the other to Islamabad. By mistake, you take up the road to
Islamabad. After some time you realize that you are on the wrong road this is
not the road to Multan. What will you do at this point? Obviously to reach
Multan. You will return to the point from where you mistakenly took up the road
to Islamabad.
In the Arabic language
to return in this way to the point where you had made a mistake is called
Tawba. Now we will see this meaning of Tawba to man's life in this world man
has two ways of life in front of him. One is the way of truth which is said to
be the way of virtue or goodness and the second one is the way of falsehood
which is said to be wise or bad. If a man wants to lead his life in this world
peacefully then he has only one way left and that is the road of truth if a man
follows the road of wise or badness then he has only one way to return and that
is the road of Tawba. At this point how his Tawba will be accepted for this, he
will have to go through three stages.
Number one he realizes his mistake. Number two he tries to rectify and abstain from more mistakes. Number three he adopts the right path or the root of truth.
When he
passes through all these stages then it will be said that his Tawba is accepted
and the one who does so will become that burn that is why in the Quran it is
said kind deeds can compensate for the bad effects of the wrong deeds means
compensation of all bad deeds of man can only be made by doing comparatively
more good deeds and that he must not go towards the wrong days anymore.
